GUNMEN DON KILL DEKINA APC CHAIRMAN FOR KOGI STATE,AND DEM CARRY ANOTHER PERSON GO FOR BUSH.
Gunmen don shoot and kill Hon. Ishaq Yunusa, wey be APC Chairman for Dekina Local Government Area for Kogi State. The gunmen also carry another person wey bin dey inside Yunusa motor go for bush.
The incident happen for Thursday, August 27, around 5 p.m., for Ojuwo Olijo area, along the Itobe Ochadamu Expressway for Ofu Local Government Area.
According to police, the armed men come out from bush and start shoot motorists for the road. After the attack, security people see one blue Toyota Corolla wey dem abandon for highway.
Police say dem find Ishaq Yunusa dead inside the motor, while another person wey bin dey inside the vehicle don be carried away by the attackers.
Kogi Police Command don join hand with other security agencies to comb the surrounding forest, so dem fit rescue the kidnapped person and catch the people wey carry out the attack.
Police also say dem don move the body of the late APC chairman go Grimard Hospital for Anyigba for autopsy.
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, don order security operatives to continue strong operations for the area and make sure say the attackers face justice.
Police don also warn motorists and people wey dey stay around the road make dem stay very careful and report any suspicious movement to security agencies.
The attack come at a time when security concern don increase for some major roads for Kogi, with another kidnapping incident recently reported for the Ofu axis.
