The Edo diaspora community recorded a significant milestone with a high-level visit to the office of the Director-General of the Edo Diaspora Agency, reinforcing global unity and commitment to Edo State’s development agenda.
The delegation reflected the growing strength and coordination of Edo sons and daughters across the world. Leading the visit were Prof. Apostle Pedro from Canada, Dr Osayewenre Okungbowa representing the United Arab Emirates, and Dr Osagie Igbinosun from the United States.
The delegation was further strengthened by the later arrival of the Oduma of Austria, Chief Amenaghawon, adding a strong traditional and cultural voice to the engagement. Also expected to join the mission is the Enogie of New York, Daddy Rich Iyaere, whose participation underscores the expanding reach of the Edo diaspora network.
During the visit, discussions centred on structured collaboration between the diaspora and the Edo State Government, with emphasis on investment promotion, youth empowerment, cultural diplomacy, and sustainable development initiatives. The Director-General of the Edo Diaspora Agency welcomed the delegation warmly, commending their unity, sacrifice, and shared vision for Edo State.
Members of the delegation described the visit as a symbol of collective responsibility, stressing that progress is only possible through cooperation, trust, and a shared commitment to service. They reaffirmed their readiness to act as bridges between Edo State and global opportunities across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
In a joint message of appreciation, the delegation emphasised that without the combined efforts, dedication, and goodwill of every stakeholder, such a landmark engagement would not have been possible. The visit stands as a clear testament to the power of unity among Edo people worldwide and signals a renewed chapter of purposeful engagement with the Edo Diaspora Agency.
