A 24-year-old person, Furera Abubakar, has been captured for purportedly killing her co-wife fou
r-day-old child with an insect spray.
The occurrence was said to have happened at Bantu Town in the Ningi Nearby Government Area of Bauchi State.
The state Police Public Relations, Ahmed Wakil, uncovered this in a statement on Tuesday named “24-year-old housewife kills stepson in Ningi LGA.”
Wakil, a Director of Police, said the child was brought into the world on August 15, 2023, however was killed by the suspect on August 19, 2023, preceding his naming.
The assertion read, “Agents appended to the Bauchi State Police Order have captured Furera Abubakar, female (24) of Bantu town, Ningi Neighborhood Government Region of the state for guilty murder.
“The occurrence was accounted for to the Ningi Divisional Police base camp on August 19, 2023, which uncovered that the four-day-old child was brought into the world on August 15, 2023, and was killed by the suspect, Furera Abubakar, on August 19, 2023, preceding the naming service.
“Preliminary suspect uncovered that the suspect is a co-spouse to the casualty’s mom.
“The suspect went into the co-spouse’s room with fluid bug spray and applied it to the child’s unhealed umbilical line.”
Wakil said the suspect would be arraigned after the examination.
