The hospital, which was completed just a few months ago, was subjected to a series of thefts that resulted in the loss of valuable equipment. Among the items stolen were a brand new ambulance, children’s beds, solar panels, poles, television sets, and other essential supplies that were meant to support the provision of healthcare services in the community.

A viral video circulating in Enugu captured one of the community leaders expressing their frustration and resolve to put an end to the ongoing acts of criminality. In the video, he lamented the audacity of unknown individuals who have been brazenly stealing from the hospital, causing immense hardship for the community.

The community leader stated, “The people here today are people of the Ogurute Uno community. This is Ogurute Ulo General Hospital built for us by the government. The government provided us with equipment to take care of the sick in our villages and equipped this hospital to serve the needs of our people. However, thieves have stolen vital equipment such as air-conditioners, solar batteries, solar panels, an ambulance bus, TV sets, wheelchairs, stretchers, ceiling fans, and even children’s beds.”
