Individual with Physical Challenges Apprehended in Connection with Farmer’s Death in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command is currently investigating the tragic killing of a farmer known as Sikiru on his farmland, reportedly by a deaf and mute individual identified as Alabi. Sources suggest that Alabi, who is accused of stealing the victim’s farm produce, attacked Sikiru when confronted. Fellow farmers intervened, apprehending Alabi in the act.

 

According to a source, “The deaf and dumb man had gone to Sikiru’s farm to steal produce. When confronted, he became violent, inflicting a deep machete cut on Sikiru’s neck. The farmer’s agonizing cry drew other farmers to the scene, and they detained Alabi before contacting the police.”

 

Ekiti State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident and the suspect’s arrest, stating, “The suspect has been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations. The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigations.”
