JDPC Partners with Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri In The Fight Against Gender-Based Violence

The Justice Development and Peace Centre (JDPC), a renowned non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion of social justice and protection of vulnerable groups, has initiated a partnership with the Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri, to strengthen efforts in addressing gender-based violence and advancing the rights of the girl child.

During a courtesy visit to the council headquarters, the JDPC delegation led by Rev. Fr. Benedict Owubenu commended the Chairman’s commitment to community development and expressed readiness to collaborate on grassroots programmes targeted at protecting women and girls from all forms of abuse.

Rev. Fr. Owubenu emphasized the organization’s mission to advocate for justice for the less privileged and promote societal values that uphold dignity, equity, and the rule of law. He appealed for stronger institutional backing to ensure policy enforcement and community engagement on issues affecting vulnerable women and children.

He described the partnership as timely and in alignment with the development blueprint of Edo State under Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo’s Project Shine Agenda, which prioritizes safety, inclusiveness, and social welfare.

The Chairman further highlighted the commitment of the First Lady of Edo State in the ongoing fight against drug abuse and youth-related social vices, reaffirming the state’s proactive approach to curbing societal ills.
