The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, has provided an update on the investigation into the shooting incident at the Benin City airport, which resulted in the death of a police officer. According to CP Adegboye, the individuals who were invited for questioning in connection with the incident have deserted their homes.

Speaking to journalists at the state command in Benin City, CP Adegboye stated that the investigation has reached an advanced stage, and the police are determined to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice. CP Adegboye further explained that due to the suspects’ abandonment of their known addresses, the police have taken the additional step of delivering the invitation to their relatives. However, if the suspects fail to honor the invitation, appropriate legal procedures will be followed, which may include declaring them wanted.

The police commissioner’s remarks highlight the seriousness with which the investigation is being conducted and the commitment of the police force to ensuring that those responsible for this crime are held accountable.
