In a disturbing incident that took place in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, the police have apprehended a 46-year-old ritualist who was in the act of attempting to slaughter a 10-year-old boy. The suspect, identified as Isiaka Adeniyi, was caught on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, at the Oke-Foma area in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, the incident occurred when the suspect lured the young hawker, whose name is being withheld, into a room under the pretense of buying pepper from him. However, instead of making a purchase, Adeniyi covered the boy’s face with a cloth and tried to harm him with a knife.
Thanks to the swift action of vigilant community members, the suspect was apprehended and handed over to the police. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough and discreet investigation.
