The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a woman, Adeola Adewale, in connection with the murder of a 65-year-old man, Mr. Adebayo, at a service apartment in the Abule Egba area of Lagos. According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect was arrested after weeks of investigation.
The deceased had checked into the apartment on March 27, 2025, accompanied by the suspect. A few hours later, Adewale left the premises with the victim’s car and personal valuables, telling the housekeeper she would return shortly. However, she did not return, and the body of the man was discovered the following day during a routine check.
Detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department tracked down and arrested Adewale on Friday night, April 26, 2025. The suspect confessed to administering a malt drink laced with a poisonous substance to the deceased, which ultimately led to his death.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assured residents of the command’s dedication to protecting lives and property. He warned criminals to desist or face the full weight of the law, emphasizing that individuals engaging in criminal activities will be identified, arrested, and brought to justice.
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue to unravel further details surrounding the incident.
