The Lagos State Police Order has blocked substances thought to be Indian hemp worth N13m from two men along Mushin, Isolo Street in the Isolo area of Lagos State.
The illicit Ondo teenage sisters fake kidnap, demand N100,000 ransomdrugs were transported on Tuesday by Fidelis Otiga, 49, and Chukwuma Kennedy, 50, in a Toyota Sienna with the number plate KJA 118 HV. State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement on Monday that the items were recovered at midnight when they were stopped by Aswani Police Division officers during a routine stop-and-search on the road.
The assertion read to some extent, “The capture happened on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, around 11.56pm during a normal pause and-search, prompting the capture of Fidelis Otiga and Chukwuma Kennedy matured 49 and 50 separately, in whose vehicle the medications were found.
A Toyota Sienna with the number plate KJA 118 HV was being used to transport the illegal drugs, which had a street value of N13 million.
“The suspects and exhibit have since been moved to the command headquarters for additional investigation and prosecution,” the statement reads.
Idowu Owohunwa, the state Commissioner of Police, was cited in the statement as reiterating his commitment to the state’s fight against drug abuse and misuse while assuring residents of their safety.
