The Lagos State Police Command has intensified its search for Teniola Ajisomo, the remaining suspect linked to the murder of 28-year-old Adedamola Ogunbode, a graduate of Lagos State University (LASU). Ogunbode’s body was exhumed from a shallow grave behind the LASU fence in its Ojo campus on April
The police investigation revealed that Ogunbode, a Political Science Education graduate, had been missing since January 16. Several suspects have been arrested in connection with his murder, including Sunday Whepetoji, a pastor, and Sheriff Adebayo, a church member. Both men were accused of receiving money from the victim’s account.
Omolara Ajisomo, the mother of Teniola and Olaoluwa Ajisomo, was also arrested for allegedly helping her children escape to Cotonou, Benin Republic, after they received money from the victim’s account. However, she has since been released.
Olaoluwa Ajisomo was arrested in the Alakuko area of Lagos and led the police to the shallow grave where Ogunbode’s body was buried. The police are still searching for Teniola Ajisomo, who is believed to be on the run.
The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Teniola was still at large and that the police were working to apprehend him. Hundeyin also stated that Sunday Whepetoji and Sheriff Adebayo were being held at the Ikoyi correctional centre.

The police have sealed the church where some people alleged that Ogunbode was killed and buried, citing intelligence reports that some individuals planned to burn it down in revenge. The church has been sealed to prevent any further violence and to preserve the crime scene for further investigation.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that updates on the investigation and any progress made will be shared as soon as possible. The command is urging anyone with information about Teniola Ajisomo’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation.
