In response to reported threats and propaganda, the Lagos State Government, led by Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab, remains resolute in reclaiming the drainage right of way within the seven-meter setback.
Wahab issued a seven-day contravention notice to building owners encroaching on the setback along Orchid Road, Agungi, Ajiran, Conservation Road, Osapa, and Oral Estate II in Lekki.
Despite concerns of targeting specific ethnic groups, Wahab emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding the law and putting an end to any form of lawlessness. Enforcement is set to commence following the expiration of the deadline.
