LASUSTECH, Polish University Seal Strategic MoU on Student Exchange, Research Collaboration

Lagos State University of Science and Technology has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SGH Warsaw School of Economics, one of Poland’s leading academic institutions, in a move aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation, research innovation, and institutional development.

The partnership is expected to open new opportunities for student exchange programmes, joint academic research, faculty development, and knowledge sharing initiatives between both institutions. The collaboration reflects a growing trend among African universities to deepen global academic engagement and improve competitiveness in research, innovation, and human capital development.

Officials of LASUSTECH described the agreement as a significant milestone in the university’s drive toward internationalization and global relevance. The institution noted that the partnership would create platforms for cross-cultural academic experiences, collaborative research projects, and capacity building opportunities for staff and students.

Under the terms of the agreement, both universities are expected to cooperate in areas including academic exchange, curriculum enhancement, conferences, collaborative publications, and professional development initiatives. The partnership is also projected to strengthen innovation-driven education and expand international exposure for students enrolled in the participating institutions.

Founded in Poland, SGH Warsaw School of Economics is widely recognized for its contributions to economics, business, public policy, and management studies across Europe. The institution has established several international partnerships globally and is regarded as one of Central Europe’s prominent higher education institutions.

Education stakeholders say such collaborations are increasingly important for African universities seeking to align with global academic standards, improve research output, and enhance employability opportunities for graduates in a rapidly evolving global economy.

The LASUSTECH SGH partnership further underscores the growing importance of transnational education cooperation between African and European institutions, particularly in the areas of innovation, technology, economic research, and sustainable development.
