Lawyer and Niece Freed from Captors in Akwa Ibom Rescue Operation

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has successfully rescued a lawyer and his niece who were abducted and held in captivity.

The operation took place after law enforcement received a tip-off about the location of the victims. Police officers discovered the abductees in an underground tunnel concealed by a heavy slab, which was carefully lifted to secure their release.

During the rescue, a voice believed to belong to one of the officers encouraged the victims, saying, “Come out, all of you. You are saved in Jesus’ name.”

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nsifon John, stated that the victims were undergoing medical evaluation following their ordeal.

The swift action by the police demonstrates ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents in the state.
