LEGISLATIVE AIDE TO HON. BILLY OSAWARU, CHRISTOPHER OSA EMOVON, PASSES ON

The political community in Edo State was thrown into mourning on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, following the sudden passing of Mr. Christopher Osa Emovon (Elder), a Senior Legislative Aide to Hon. Billy Osawaru, Member representing Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

 

A statement issued by Ukato Thomas, on behalf of the Office of Hon. Billy Osawaru, confirmed that Elder Emovon passed away in the early hours of Tuesday after a brief illness.

 

Until his death, Elder Emovon also served as the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uhunmwode Local Government Chapter. Known for his humility, wisdom, dedication, and unwavering commitment to duty, he was widely admired within the constituency and beyond.

 

Describing his passing as a “huge and painful loss”, Hon. Osawaru’s office highlighted Elder Emovon’s invaluable contributions over the past two years, noting his calm disposition, jovial nature, and consistent loyalty to both his immediate team and the APC family in Edo State.

 

“Elder Chris was dependable, energetic, and always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear,” the statement read. “His positive spirit uplifted those around him, and he remained a steady presence amid life’s uncertainties. His demise leaves a void not only in our legislative team and political family but in the broader Igieduma Community and Edo State at large.”

 

The statement extended heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, political associates, and all who mourn his passing. It further urged constituents and party faithful to honor his memory by upholding the values of integrity, humility, and service which he exemplified throughout his lifetime.

 

As preparations for his burial commence, the constituency and political class are united in prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul.
