Liel Abada’s departure from Celtic is “inevitable” after a £10 million transfer update.

The former Hoops striker told Football Insider exclusively that he is not yet ready for a move to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old player signed a deal with Parkhead in 2021 after coming over from the Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva. It is set to expire in 2026.

Apparently, the club and the winger have been unable to agree on a new contract, and the club is now open to listening to proposals, as reported by journalist Stephen McGowan and repeated by Everything Celtic (21 March).

Southampton is reportedly preparing a £10 million offer for Abada ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to McAvennie, the Israeli is not prepared to act just yet.
He told Football Insider, “It is inevitable athletes go on, but he is only a young child.”

He’s rocking it at a major club, and suddenly the agents are circling.

A move away from Celtic to a more prestigious club is highly unlikely. Of course, that assumes he even wants to go. He’s only 21, but Ange seems to be handling him well.

The manager was justified in benching him after he performed so poorly in a couple of games. Then, when he returns with him, they have success.

I don’t believe Ange will be very bothered about that. He’ll just blend in with the rest of the team if he transfers.

The Premier League is too soon for Abada. He’s at a major club where the supporters adore him; he needs to slow down.
