Man Alleges Ogun Monarch’s Involvement in Land Disput

Adeolu Ojekemi has submitted a petition to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, accusing the Olu of Arepo, Oba Solomon Oyebi, and some chiefs of forcible entry, malicious damage, threatening violence, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace over alleged land encroachment in Ogun State.

Man Alleges Ogun Monarch's Involvement in Land Disput

Ojekemi, who purchased a half plot of land in 2011 and the remaining half in 2016, reported that individuals, directed by Mr. Ramon Ayekoti and others claiming to act on the monarch’s instructions, started digging trenches on his property on November 3, 2023. The petitioner challenged them, leading to a confrontation.

In response, Oba Solomon Oyebi questioned the authenticity of Ojekemi’s land documents, alleging that the land belonged to his sister, Yemisi, and that the receipt provided was fake. Despite Ojekemi’s efforts to halt construction, the individuals returned on November 3, initiating violence and threatening his life.

Ojekemi has sought the intervention of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, urging a thorough investigation to safeguard his life and the lives of his family members and ensure justice prevails.

The Olu of Arepo, Oba Solomon Oyebi, was contacted for comment, but responses were not received by the time of filing this report.
