The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, whose name has been withheld, for allegedly killing his neighbour and her son following a dispute over environmental sanitation in the Lekki area.
Lagos Police Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating it occurred around 10:50 p.m. on Saturday. Investigations are ongoing to determine the weapon used in the crime.
The dispute reportedly began over an argument about the cleaning of their shared environment. The suspect is accused of killing his neighbour, Gloria, and her son, and attempting to dispose of their bodies by placing them in a large sack. However, his actions were discovered by other neighbours, who alerted the police.
Officers from the Elemoro division arrived swiftly, arrested the suspect, and recovered the bodies. The victims have been taken to Epe General Hospital for autopsy and preservation. Police detectives continue to investigate the case.
