The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the discovery of a 35-year-old man, Mukaila Lasisi, found lifeless in a compound on Israel Agbalade Street, Asero, Abeokuta.
The incident was reported on Sunday evening by a security guard, identified only as Amusan, who discovered the man lying unconscious at around 6:45 pm.
According to Chief Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the command, preliminary investigations revealed no signs of foul play at the scene. However, the cause of death remains unknown, and further investigation is ongoing.
“On December 29, 2024, Amusan, a resident of No. 1 Israel Agbalade Street, reported the discovery of an unconscious man in his compound,” Odutola explained. “The victim was taken to the State Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, where medical personnel confirmed his death. No visible injuries were found on his body.”
The deceased was later identified by his father as Mukaila Lasisi. His body has been moved to the State Hospital Mortuary for preservation and further examination.
Police detectives are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding Lasisi’s death, with updates expected as the investigation progresses.
This incident comes shortly after another case reported on December 20, 2024, where a woman, Serifatu Disu, was found deceased in the home of a friend in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. Authorities are continuing efforts to address such occurrences and ensure justice is served.
