The Early Life of Nnamdi Kanu

Born in Isiama Afara, Abia State, Nigeria. His father is HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu (JP) and his mother is Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu. He studied at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) but left for London to complete his tertiary education. Not much is known about Kanu. Prior to his arrest in December 2015, he resided in London where he founded Biafra radio.com in 2009. He is married to Uchechi Okwu-Kanu

How Nnamdi Kanu was arrested

We record when It was reported that Mr Kanu on December 18, 2015 had been kidnapped in Lagos State by the Department of State Services (DSS). Mr Kanu had told his solicitors that he was, on 14th December 2015, arrested by the State Security Service (SSS) in his hotel room at Golden Tulip Essential Hotel Ikeja, Lagos State. The news of the arrest of Mr Kanu spread around Nigeria and generated mass protests across parts of the South-south and Southeast, 2021 he was re-arrested and accuse of crime associated with terrorism recently awaiting to be tried in one of the Nigeria Court.
