The Onogie of Ewu Kingdom, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, HRH Rasak Ojiefoh Isesele 111 has advised Nigerians to shun tribalism and sectionalism in choosing their next president.
He advised that Nigerians should rather elect a detribalized Nigerian with passion and interest for the growth and development of the country.
HRH Isesele gave the advice while speaking at his palace in Ewu, during Eid-de-fitr celebration, to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The monarch implored Nigerians to disabuse their minds and shun politics of tribalism, bigotry and religious sentiments, as they had not help the nation.
“Let us stop the politics of tribalism. Let stop bigotry and religious sentiments. It is only in Nigeria I hear of zoning. Anybody that can fix Nigeria should be elected as president. Same for States
“Politicians are always playing this politics of tribalism and sectionalism because of their selfish interest. Not for the interest of the public. Let us elect somebody that has compassion for the country. That has vision and fear of God”, he advised.
Speaking on the Eid-de-fitr celebration, he explained that it was to mark the successful conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, during which all Muslims were required to fast.
He congratulated all Muslims for the successful conclusion of the Ramadan fast, and enjoined them to imbibe the principles of Ramadan.
He called on all Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation, to live in peace with each other, as no meaningful development could be achieved in an atmosphere of rancor.
