Multi instrumentalist and Singer, Eno Louis asks Government to release N500 Million to Nigerian Musicians and Tasking MTN on N100 Trust Fund.
Popular musician of “Edonimose” fame and celebrity Eno Louis Enobakhare who asked the Vice – President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to assist in the naming of the National Theatre, Iganmu after late Afro- beat King, Fela Anikulapo Kuti during the 2019 EDO National Festival of Arts and Culture is at it again. This time, he has solicited further assistance from the Vice- President for the release of N500 Million Musicians funds frozen in banks because of litigation. The Collecting Society of Nigeria ( COSON ) has been sued by its supervising body, Nigeria Copyrights Commission ( NCC ), thus ” Nigerian Musicians need the assistance of the Vice- President Professor Yemi Osinbajo in settling this dispute, and subsequent release of this funds to Nigerian Musicians’, Eno Louis said. In the same vein, Eno Louis Enobakhare has tasked the MTN telecommunications service provider to put together a Trust Fund of N100 Million, as part of palliative measures to help Nigerian Musicians
survive this hard times of the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world. According to Eno Louis, the interest from this fund will be distributed to musicians through the Nigeria Union of Musicians ( NUM )
The multi – instrumentalist is the owner of Eno Louis Afro Jazz Rock Matters with performance all over Nigeria and beyond. Music albums to his credit include Living in the USA/ Rice simi gio gio in 1982, 2nd cry Nigeria in 1985, Bimolemo in 2002, Edonimose in 2002, Melody d’amour in 2003, Sera Sera in 2005, Movel ( honest joins London) in 2013, and ” Thank you Lord” in 2019.
He started musical career at the Nigeria Television Authority ( NTA ) in Benin City, Edo State on ” Music Panorama ” in 1975: before proceeding to the Westminster College, Pennsylvania to study Computer Science/ Mathematics in 1979 and returned to Nigeria after studies. His books includes “Encyclopedia of Edo Culture” , “Praise Worship Thanksgiving” , “Names of Animals in Benin
language” “Nice Rain praise and worship songs” and others.
