Edo State Council for Islamic Affairs has advised Muslims in the state to be politically active with the fear of Allah in their heart, just as the Council will continue to act as bridge between the Muslims and government,
This was disclosed by the Chairman, Edo State Council for Islamic Affairs, Abdulazeez Nosakhare Igbinidu during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Zubairu Dada Abubakar in his office to congratulate him on his appointment.
“We know that your appointment is not by accident or by mere wishes, we believe this appointment came through hard work as a grass root politician and Almighty Allah has also approved it. This is why we are always advising our Muslim brothers who are seeking political relevance, that appointment may not come to them just because they are Muslims when they are not engaging in political activities.
“We will continue to encourage them to be active politically and having the fear of Allah in their heart. The Council will also continue to act as bridge between the Muslims and government” he noted.
According to him, ” EDSCIA under my watch has never discriminated or encouraged other Muslims to discriminate against any candidate or political party during elections. More so, this is governance, where every component of the state should be carried along. We always urge all Muslims to support this government.
“We heartily congratulate you on your well deserved appointment as Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs. We are highly delighted that a personality of your caliber is now part of Edo State Executive. We have since sent our appreciation to the governor while we also urged him to do more for us.”
The EDSCIA Chairman who was accompanied by other members of the Executive, said they have observed that many politicians do not know the relevance of the Council as far as government activities are concerned, adding that, for the avoidance of doubt the Council as the Umbrella body of Muslims and Muslim bodies in the state is the one saddled with the responsibilities to liaise with government on behalf of Muslims in the state
“This will enhance quality and all inclusive representation of Muslims in the state. As one of the Commissioners we will appreciate if you add voice t this as it will promote out unity and progress,” he added.
The Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Zubairu Dada Abubakar thanked the leadership of the state Council for Islamic Affairs for the visit and assured them that he would be a good ambassador of the Muslims in the Edo State Executive Council.
