My son is dead’: Elon Musk opens up about his transgender child

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently opened up about his experience with his transgender child during a live interview with psychologist Jordan Peterson. Musk revealed that he had been “tricked” into granting permission for his child to undergo puberty blockers.
The conversation arose when Peterson mentioned Musk’s decision to relocate SpaceX’s headquarters from California, citing the state’s new legislation that allows schools to keep a child’s sexual orientation or gender identity confidential from their parents. Musk explained that his motivation for speaking out on this issue stemmed from a personal experience involving his child, Xavier, who now identifies as transgender and goes by the name Vivian Jenna Wilson.

Musk expressed his concerns about the use of puberty blockers on children, stating, “It’s evil. You’re taking kids who are far below the age of consent.” He further explained that adults could manipulate children who are experiencing an identity crisis into believing they are the wrong gender. Musk then revealed that he was tricked into signing documents for his older son, Xavier, without fully understanding the implications. He claimed that he was told Xavier might commit suicide if he didn’t provide consent.
Peterson challenged this notion, stating that there was no evidence to support the claim that not undergoing puberty blockers would lead to suicide. He argued that if there is a higher suicide rate, it is likely due to underlying depression and anxiety, rather than gender dysphoria.
Musk expressed his frustration and loss, saying, “I lost my son, essentially. They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead, so my son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.” He vowed to combat this “woke mind virus” and make progress in addressing the issue.
The use of puberty blockers has been a topic of debate, and a preprint study published by the Mayo Clinic earlier this year suggested that they may have long-term irreversible effects on fertility in boys. This contradicted previous claims that the effects of puberty blockers were reversible.
Vivian Musk, formerly known as Xavier, publicly announced her transgender identity in  She also petitioned to legally change her name to Vivian and adopt her mother’s surname, expressing her desire to distance herself from her biological father.
In response to the new California law that prohibits schools from informing parents about changes to a student’s gender identity, Musk announced plans to relocate the headquarters of SpaceX and X to Texas. He had previously informed the governor of his intentions if the bill was signed into law.
The interview shed light on Musk’s personal experience and sparked a discussion about the use of puberty blockers and the rights of parents to be involved in decisions regarding their children’s gender identity. The issue remains a complex and sensitive topic, with ongoing debates and differing perspectives.
