NBBF Election: Kida, Olumide, Five Others Cleared For January 31st Polls

The electoral committee with the responsibility to midwife the process of the Nigeria Basketball Federation election scheduled to hold on Monday, 31st January in Benin City, has cleared seven candidates, including incumbent NBBF president Engr Musa Kida to contest.

The final screening exercise was held on Saturday by Dr. Lanre Glover led Electoral Committee during which the eight contestants were cleared.

. The cleared candidates include incumbent NBBF President, Musa Kida who wants reelection for another term for the South-South Zonal Representative position.

Former D’Tigers captain Olumide Oyedeji and Babs Ogunade are cleared for the southwest zone sole ticket, making the political atmosphere tense in the zone

Anambra State Basketball Chairman, Ugo Udezue has emerged as the sole candidate from the southeast zone just as Abba Kaka Abdulkadir was also cleared to contest as the North East representative on the board while Adamu Deshi Janlong is hoping to represent the North Central Zone.

Yusuf Surajo was also given the green light to contest as the North West representative on the board of the NBBF.

Delegates were expected to arrive in the host city, Benin City Sunday for the elective congress.
