NDLEA DON CATCH N6.2BN DRUG GBEGE WEY DEM HIDE INSIDE GHANA SOAP FOR LAGOS AIRPORT.

Na serious drug bust NDLEA don make for Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after dem catch 47,200 Captagon pills wey dem hide inside blocks of local bathing soap, wey people dey commonly call “Ghana Soap.” NDLEA say di Captagon consignment alone get street value wey pass N1.5 billion.

According to NDLEA, dem arrest one 49-year-old suspected cross border drug trafficker, Akinbile Kazeem Aikins, on August 22, 2026, after e arrive Lagos from Accra, Ghana, inside Africa World Airlines flight. During search, officers find carton full of soap, but na inside di soap blocks dem later discover say dem hide thousands of Captagon  tablets.

Captagon  na amphetamine type drug wey authorities dey sometimes call “Jihadi drug” because of reports say armed groups for some conflict zones don dey use and trade am. NDLEA say di suspect claim say na another person suppose receive di drugs and carry dem go northern Nigeria.

For another operation for di same Lagos airport, NDLEA also recover about 3.9 million opioid tablets, including Tramaking 225mg and Tapentadol  250mg. Di drugs weigh about 2,787 kilograms and dem value am for more than N4.6 billion. Some of di consignments reportedly arrive from Bangladesh through RwandaAir flights before dem abandon am for di airport import shed.

NDLEA say all di seizures together worth more than N6.2 billion, as di agency continue to tighten security against drug trafficking through Nigeria airports and other entry points. Di agency don also warn drug traffickers say dem go continue to trace, seize and prosecute people wey dey bring dangerous substances enter di country.
