Network of Roads Connecting Benin Metropolis Excites US Based Insurance Magnate

The President of United States of America Based K E Insurance Group, Mr. Kowho Enaohwo has expressed appreciation to Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for rehabilitating connecting roads within the Benin Metropolis to decongest traffic.

The Edo Born Insurance Magnate who lives in Houston Texas, was in Benin City for the yuletide and he disclosed on phone that he was surprised to see the network of roads connecting Upper Sakponba to Sapele road and between Second East Circular and Third East Circular to decongest traffic on the ever-busy Benin metropolis.

“I was really amazed to see roads like Orobaton road and all those streets on First East Circular heading towards Uwa Street, connecting to First Circular and 2nd Circular now tarred. Where I grew up, I never believed that in my life time I will see those roads tarred. But today, the Edo state government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki has tarred the roads between 2nd and 3rd East Circular. It takes a while to get these things done, the government cannot do everything within the short period. If not for the connecting roads, Upper Sakponba would have been a glorified village,” he added.

He said this government should be commended for rehabilitating and constructing so many roads across the state, adding that, “before now, apart from St. Saviour Road that was tarred and became bad and Gorreti road, there was no tarred road in Upper Sakponba. It was only the Gorreti road that was accessible, connecting to Dumez Road and Sapele road which was bad and yet you cannot even drive through. But now, there are more tarred connecting roads all over the place.”

In Benin, Edo South, some of the roads that have been completed for use includes part of 2nd West Circular road, Omokaro street, off Siluko, part of Aruosagbe street, off Textile Mill road, Canaan street, off Textile Mill road, 18th Street, Ugbowo, rehabilitation of Usama street, off Ekenwan road, part of Ogie street, off Uselu Lagos road, rehabilitation of Okhoro road, reconstruction of Omozogie street, off New Lagos road, Rehabilitation of Aiguokhian road, off Technical College road, Siluko road, from Ring road to Textile Mill road, Training College Access road, Ogida Barracks, off Upper Siluko, Ebo street, Uselu, Egugie street and lanes off Welfare road, Federal Government Girls road/Irowa Obazee road, Friendship street, off Okhoro, Ikpema street/ Omoziogie lane, Uselu, Iyobanosa street, Uselu, Leaders college iìroad off Upper Ekenwan road, Okhoro/ Aghahowa street and Okhoro/ Aisosa road and Uwagboe street,                                 Ugbowo amongst others.
