According to reports, Salawadeen was believed to have been followed to his apartment by his attackers on February 27. The suspects allegedly locked other residents in their rooms before entering Salawadeen’s apartment. Once inside, they proceeded to stab him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Sadly, despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, Salawadeen succumbed to his injuries. The incident took place in the presence of the photographer’s children, adding to the harrowing nature of the crime.

Abiodun further revealed that the assailants not only took the life of Salawadeen but also stole some valuables from his apartment before making their escape. The police have visited the crime scene, recovered some exhibits, and launched a preliminary investigation into the matter.

It is disheartening to note that incidents of stabbings have become a concerning trend in Niger State in recent times. Just a few weeks ago, a newlywed bride reportedly stabbed her husband to death in Nasarawa village, Lapai Local Government Area. Similarly, in 2021, a businessman named Yusuf Abubakar was fatally stabbed in Chanchaga Local Government Area after refusing to surrender his money and mobile phone to his attackers.

The growing prevalence of such violent crimes highlights the need for increased security measures and community vigilance.
