Nigerians urged to Preach Peace and Light the World with Love…As 300 Families receive Food stuff in Edo

Nigerians have been Urged To Preach Peace and Be the Light of the World, just as Over 300 families have been empowered with foodstuffs by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Edo State

The Presiding President, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sampson Eguavoen admonished Nigerians to preach peace and love to each other during the launching of the Light the World activities and presentation of Food stuffs to over 300 families in Edo state.

While demonstrating the presentation of the food stuffs to the beneficiaries, President Eguavoen disclosed that the Iguovbiahiamwen and Okuo Communities in Uhunwonde local government area are the first communities benefiting such food gesture which includes bag of rice, beans, palm oil, groundnut oil, indomi noodles, salt, sugar, tomatoes and other cooking ingredients and a live chicken.

The Ihogbe Stake President, Igbinidu Iyobosa Philip also noted that the light the world is a program started long ago by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to make everyone see that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

“If Jesus Christ is the reason for the season, it is therefore good for everyone to know and love him. When we love him, we need to care for one another.The Birth of Jesus Christ is a time for peace, a time for unity, and a time for forgiveness.

“As we light the world, let the virtues of Jesus Christ reflect in all we do. If we allow the light of God to shine in our lives we will not regret it,” he noted.

The Odionwere of Iguovbiahiamwen Community in Uhunwonde Local Government Area, Pa Gabriel Imabieghan and a former acting chairman of the local government, Hon. Benjamin Osas Iredia and other community leaders at the Aibueku Primary School, venue of the distribution of the food stuffs commended the Church for feeding over 300 families in Iguovbiahiamwen and Okuo communities during this yuletide season with the launching of the light the world activities .

According to the Odionwere, a retired Police Officer,” we are very grateful for this unique and uncommon support to give food to families at a time like this when the economy of our country is very poor and so many persons cannot feed themselves and their families.

The former acting chairman, who is the councilor representing the ward, Hon Benjamin Osas Iredia also on behalf of the families appreciated the Church for the wonderful gesture and he implored everyone to be the light of the world.

“We must carry the message of the Church to the communities, families and the world to let them know that we all carry this light that will bring people to God. Let us continue to impact the lives of our people and communities with the love of God ,” he added.
