A Nollywood actor, Godwin Nnadiekwe, has been hospitalized with internal bleeding following a violent on-set incident involving his colleague, Zubby Micheal. The incident occurred during filming when Micheal allegedly kicked Nnadiekwe in the chest, causing him serious pain.

In a now-viral behind-the-scenes clip, Micheal was seen angrily exiting a vehicle, leaping over a barricade, and kicking Nnadiekwe as he emerged. Nnadiekwe claimed that the kick was not part of the scripted scene and that he had to seek medical attention on his own, receiving no support from the production team or on-set first aid.
Nnadiekwe expressed his concerns about the lack of safety protocols on set, particularly in an industry where many productions lack insurance, medical support, or structured safety protocols. He emphasized that all physical actions on set should be intentional and under the director’s guidance.
Nnadiekwe issued an emotional appeal to the film industry, urging actors and producers to prioritize safety. He stressed that unexpected physical actions, even if accidental, can have real consequences and that the industry needs to take steps to prevent such incidents.
Shortly after his post, Nnadiekwe’s management released a public statement confirming that his condition had worsened. They reported that he had been rushed to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment for internal bleeding. The statement named Zubby Micheal as the colleague involved.
The incident highlights the need for better safety protocols and support systems in the Nollywood industry. It also raises questions about the level of professionalism and respect among colleagues on set. As the industry continues to grow, it is the industry to prioritize the safety and well-being of its actors and crew members?
