NSCDC Officers Detained by Police; Investigation Launched into Shooting of Abuja Students

The Nigeria Police took swift action on Wednesday, detaining three officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) involved in the shooting of two Senior Secondary School students in Life Camp.

The incident, which occurred during an ongoing examination, led to the hospitalization of the students at Gwarinpa Hospital. In response, angered high school students reportedly vandalized three NSCDC patrol vehicles. The FCT Police Command intervened to restore peace, and an investigation into the incident is underway.

 

FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, assuring that peace has been restored. Two injured students are currently receiving treatment, and an investigation has been initiated. The NSCDC is yet to provide an official statement, with the FCT NSCDC spokesperson citing illness and promising to provide updates after making inquiries.
