On April 10, 2025, Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, the Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency (ESDA), accompanied by journalists from Obaland Magazine,Mr Lucky Omsigho paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu. This meeting aimed to enhance collaboration between the diaspora agency and the state’s information ministry, focusing on strategies to effectively engage and inform the Edo diaspora community.​

Dr. Ogboro-Okor, appointed as the Director-General of ESDA by Governor Monday Okpebholo in March 2025, brings extensive experience as a UK-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, medical simulation expert, and humanitarian. Her leadership is anticipated to drive initiatives that connect Edo indigenes abroad with developments at home.

EDSDA VISIT TO COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION

During the meeting, discussions centered on leveraging the state’s information platforms to disseminate news and updates pertinent to the diaspora community. Hon. Paul Ohonbamu the importance of transparent communication and assured the ministry’s support in amplifying the agency’s outreach efforts.​

The collaboration between ESDA and the Ministry of Information and Communication is expected to foster a more informed and engaged diaspora, contributing to the socio-economic development of Edo State.​
