Ogun Notorious Armed Robbers Nabbed in Lagos

In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement in Ogun State, three suspected armed robbers have been apprehended in Lagos, following their alleged involvement in a series of criminal activities that have plagued the Ejirin community in the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area. The arrests, which took place on September 23, 2024, came after the capture of one member of the gang during a robbery attempt.
According to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the operation was initiated after the arrest of Qudri Yusuf, a 30-year-old man, who was caught in the act of robbing a resident on Cele Ejirin Road. His subsequent interrogation revealed vital information that led police to the gang’s hideout located in the Idioro area of Mushin, Lagos State. Acting on this intelligence, a team of detectives quickly moved to the hideout, resulting in the arrest of two additional suspects: Bolaji Zutan, a 19-year-old, and Oladimeji Yusuf, who is also 30 years old.Ogun Notorious Armed Robbers Nabbed in Lagos
Odutola highlighted the series of events that transpired, stating,  based on the confessional statement of Qudri Yusuf, who was apprehended while attempting to rob in Ejirin, our team of detectives was able to locate their criminal hideout in Idioro, Mushin, where two other members of the gang were arrested.”
During the arrests, law enforcement officials recovered several items believed to be connected to the suspects’ criminal activities, including four cutlasses. The police spokesperson emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing, with efforts being made to apprehend other members of the syndicate who remain at large. “We are actively pursuing the remaining suspects and hope to recover any stolen items,” Odutola concluded.
This incident is part of a larger trend of violent crime that has affected residents in Ogun State. Just weeks prior,
two
individuals linked to the Aiye Confraternity, Adisa Abiodun and Rasheed Makinde, were arrested for their role in a robbery at the Hommies Hotel
theAdo-Odo-Ota Local Government Area. Disturbingly, these suspects were also implicated in the sexual assault of a female staff member during the robbery.
A police operative, speaking anonymously, described the suspects as a significant threat to local communities, stating that their criminal actions have caused widespread fear and disruption. The arrests of these individuals mark a crucial step towards restoring safety and security in the affected areas.
