Ogun Police Arrest Two Suspects for Cattle Theft, Recover Six Cows, Foil Suspected Abduction Attempt.
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged cattle theft operation and recovered six stolen cows, while also preventing a separate suspected abduction attempt in another part of the state.
According to the police, the arrests followed intelligence led operations aimed at tackling rising cases of livestock theft and other criminal activities across Ogun State. Officers intercepted the suspects, recovered the six cows believed to have been stolen, and have since launched further investigations to identify other possible members of the criminal network.
The Police Command stated that the suspects remain in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations, in line with due legal process.
In a separate security operation, officers successfully foiled a suspected abduction attempt after responding swiftly to credible intelligence. The police said their rapid intervention forced the suspected kidnappers to abandon their mission and flee the scene before any victim could be taken.
Authorities noted that security operatives have intensified surveillance and patrols in vulnerable communities to prevent criminal activities, particularly kidnapping, armed robbery, and cattle rustling, which have become growing security concerns in several parts of the country.
The Ogun State Police Command reassured residents of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or activities through official security channels.
