Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has congratulated Muslims in Edo State and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid-al-Adha, urging them to continue to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, love and peaceful coexistence as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, the governor described Eid-al-Adha as a significant period for reflection, devotion and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
He noted that the lessons of the festival should inspire citizens to work together for peace, unity and development in Edo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Okpebholo commended the Muslim community in Edo State for their prayers, support and contributions towards the growth and stability of the state.
He assured residents of his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructural development and improved welfare for all citizens.
The governor also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to promote harmony, extend kindness to the less privileged and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
He further urged the people to continue supporting government efforts aimed at building a prosperous and secure Edo State.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Edo State, I warmly felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the celebration of Eid-al-Adha. May Allah accept our sacrifices and reward our acts of worship,” the governor stated.
