The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, has held a special interactive session with unit coordinators across Egor Local Government Area as part of ongoing grassroots mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The interactive session, which had the Executive Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Osaro Osa Eribo JP, as the chief host, provided an opportunity for the Governor to engage directly with the party’s grassroots structures and discuss strategies for mobilising support and votes for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
President Tinubu is the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election, following the party’s nomination process earlier this year.
Governor Okpebholo was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dennis Osagie Idahosa; the Chairman of the APC in Edo State, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe; the State Secretary of the party, Engr. Lawrence Oka; and other members of the Edo State APC Working Committee.
Receiving the Governor and his entourage, the Chairman of APC in Egor Local Government Area, Chief Emmanuel Iyase, Okaon’reguae to Ehor, Ologbo and Okhuoromi Dukedoms, assured the Governor of the commitment of the party structure in Egor towards the mobilisation exercise.
Chief Iyase stated that the various units across the Local Government Area had acknowledged what he described as the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, adding that the party’s grassroots structures were prepared to take the message of the APC to the people and canvass support for the President ahead of the 2027 polls.
He further described Egor as an APC territory and assured the Governor that the unit coordinators would remain active in grassroots engagement, mobilisation and voter contact as the election approaches.
The session underscored the importance of the unit coordinators in the APC’s grassroots structure and the need for sustained interaction between party leadership and members at the unit level.
The meeting also reaffirmed the commitment of the Egor APC structure to working with the state leadership of the party in taking the campaign message to communities across the Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
