Mohammed Abubakar, a 25-year-old cattle farmer, has been arraigned at a Magistrate Court in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, for allegedly assaulting Mohammed Aisha over On June 23, 2023, traders count losses as a fire gutting the Ogun market.sex.
He was charged with grievous bodily harm and attempting to commit culpable homicide when he appeared in court.
Sections 246 and 299 of Kwara state’s penal code were broken by the offenses.
The case was reported to the Lafiagi Police Station by Dr. S. K. Suleiman, Medical Director of the General Hospital in Lafiagi, according to the initial information report from the police.
“The victim was brought for treatment where she narrated that she went to bush in search of Shea butter with her two sisters Hassana and Adishetu,” Dr. Suleiman was quoted as saying in the charge sheet.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect demanded to have sex with the victim and her two younger sisters, but they refused and ran for safety,” the police told the court.
“But he (the suspect) chased them and, in the process, hit the suspect severely on her head.”
Ayeni Gbenga, the police prosecutor, stated that the case’s investigation had not yet been completed and urged the court not to grant the accused person bail.
Magistrate Gbadeyan Kamson adjourned the case until July 10, 2023, according to her decision.
