The cause of the explosion was identified as the process of trans-loading gas from a truck into the plant’s surface tank. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, along with other emergency response agencies, promptly responded to the scene. The injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The fire service received 251 emergency calls in January, indicating the importance of prioritizing fire safety precautions, especially during the harmattan season.
