In a continued show of commitment to grassroots development, the Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri, has inspected ongoing road maintenance work at Igbesanmwan Street by Igun Junction, off Akpakpava Road in Benin City.
The project, which is being executed under the directive of the Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has drawn commendations from residents and business owners in the area.
They described the intervention as timely and impactful, highlighting its potential to ease traffic, improve accessibility, boost commercial activities, and enhance the overall aesthetics of the area.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Iduseri reaffirmed the Council’s resolve to deliver quality infrastructure in line with Governor Okpebholo’s Project Shine Agenda.
He assured that the maintenance of the failed section of the road is just one of many people-focused projects being undertaken by the local government.
In a separate development, the Oredo Council Chairman paid a working visit to Uholor Community, where he responded to the urgent appeal for additional classrooms to accommodate the growing population of schoolchildren in the area.
While acknowledging the community’s efforts in constructing the existing school block, Hon. Iduseri pledged to commence the construction of six additional classrooms to promote conducive learning.
Furthermore, he proposed the establishment of a local market in Uholor to create business opportunities and empower residents, urging the community to provide land for the project.
The elders of Uholor expressed deep appreciation for the Council’s responsiveness and praised Hon. Iduseri’s developmental efforts. They pledged their continued support to the administration of Governor Okpebholo and his vision for a prosperous Edo State.
