Osamuede Edebiri Edwin, a son of Oredo East, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Edo State House of Assembly, promising a people-centered approach to representation and development.
Speaking on his vision for the constituency, Edwin said Oredo East, regarded as the heartbeat of Benin City, deserves purposeful leadership committed to addressing critical challenges affecting residents.
According to him, his decision to seek elective office is driven by a desire to serve the people and provide effective representation focused on tangible results rather than political rhetoric.
The first-time aspirant outlined key priorities he intends to champion if elected, including the rehabilitation of inner roads, improved drainage systems in flood-prone communities, and enhanced sanitation and safety in local markets.
He also pledged to advocate for greater opportunities for young people through expanded skills acquisition programmes, increased access to employment initiatives, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.
On health and education, Edwin promised to push for stronger primary healthcare services and improved oversight and funding for public schools across the constituency.
Emphasizing transparency and accountability, he vowed to maintain regular engagement with constituents through monthly town hall meetings, periodic reports on legislative activities, and an open-door policy that allows residents direct access to their representative.
Edwin called on residents of Oredo East to support his candidacy, assuring them of dedicated service, responsive leadership, and effective representation at the state legislature.
He said his aspiration is anchored on the belief that Oredo East deserves a strong voice in the Edo State House of Assembly and a representative who will consistently advocate for the interests of the people.
