According to a news report, the Osun State Police Command has arrested 19 suspects for various crimes, including armed robbery, cultism, and conspiracy. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hope Okafor, paraded the suspects before journalists and emphasized that criminal activities would not be tolerated in any part of the state. The suspects were involved in incidents such as armed robbery of a family in Erin-Ijesa, membership in an unlawful society in Osogbo, and inter-state vehicle theft.
The police recovered stolen vehicles, including a Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord, from the suspects. Okafor assured that the suspects would be arraigned in court once the investigations are completed, but expressed concern about the closure of courts due to the ongoing strike by the Judiciary Workers Union of Nigeria. She called for a resolution to the strike to ensure the timely prosecution of suspects.
