Asaba — The Delta State Police Command has condemned the alleged sexual assaults captured in disturbing viral videos from Oramudu Quarters in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, and has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident.
The Command described the acts as criminal, inhumane, and a gross violation of the fundamental rights and dignity of the victims.
Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, ordered an immediate probe upon receiving the videos.
Following preliminary investigations, the alleged chief organiser, Chief Omorede Sunday, along with four other suspects, has been arrested. Police authorities also confirmed the arrest of the Oramudu community head in connection with the incident.
The CP has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation.
He further ordered the deployment of tactical and investigative teams to identify, track, and apprehend all individuals involved.
The Police Command called on victims and witnesses to come forward with useful information, assuring that all submissions will be handled with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Residents have also been urged to remain calm, law-abiding, and vigilant as investigations continue.
The Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all perpetrators are brought to justice and that the rights and safety of citizens are fully protected.
