Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday converged on Gusau, Zamfara State, for their 7th strategic meeting to deliberate on internal party matters and national issues.
The meeting, held at the Government House, Gusau, had in attendance Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), and the host governor, Dauda Lawal (Zamfara).
However, the governors of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, and Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, were absent.
According to sources, the agenda includes reports from the National Zoning Committee, the PDP Constitution Review Committee, and the National Executive Committee (NEC). The governors are also expected to deliberate on recent bye-elections, the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and preparations for the 2025 National Convention.
Party insiders describe the meeting as part of “ongoing efforts by PDP governors to strengthen internal party structures, review the political situation in the country, and strategize ahead of future elections.”
