The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has announced that more troops and equipment are being deployed to Plateau State to address the insecurity crisis.
The troops are expected to arrive in the state soon, and additional equipment will enhance their efficiency.
The Army Chief dismissed reports of renewed attacks, stating that he did not receive any such report during his visit to the state. He also expressed his opposition to calls for Plateau State residents to bear firearms, as he believes it could lead to anarchy. Lt. Gen. Lagbaja assured Nigerians that the military is equal to the task and will intensify efforts to ensure peace returns to troubled parts of the country in 2024.
