The victim alleged that her father always encouraged and forced her to have sex with him in his room at Solotan Estate, Radelin, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to the victim, her father started demanding sex from her soon after her mother’s divorce.
Her father reported the incident to officials of the Ogun State Social Guidance and Safety Corps, who took the case to the nearest police station, where she was arrested.
During interrogation, the suspect claimed that her daughter lied because she had reprimanded her for her daughter’s stubbornness and her promiscuous behavior.
“She’s lying. She is using this as a ploy to cover up the promiscuous behavior that I scolded her for,” the father reportedly told police.
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident, told our correspondent that the investigation was still ongoing.
“The father has been arrested. We have launched a preliminary investigation into the allegations,” Odutola said in a WhatsApp message on Tuesday. “Both parties have been referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a confidential investigation. “It will be done,” he said.
