The Lagos State Rapid Response Squad has arrested two suspected traffic robbers who were notorious for terrorizing commuters around the Ketu and Mile 12 axis of the state. The suspects, identified as Yemi Aparaojo, popularly known as Asa (33), and Samuel Adekunle, alias Omo-jo–Ibo (37), were arrested around 11:00 a.m. by RRS officers patrolling the area.
According to the police, the suspects and two others, who are currently at large, had last week robbed a passerby of ₦25,000 after pestering him for money. When the man attempted to assist them, they reportedly assaulted him and forcefully took his cash. Luck, however, ran out on the suspects when the victim spotted one of them, Adekunle, in the area on Tuesday and quickly alerted RRS operatives.
The officers immediately swooped in and apprehended the duo, while two others fled through Ketu Market. The RRS Commander, CSP Sola Jejeloye, said the arrests followed the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, to reinforce security along major traffic corridors prone to criminal activity.
Jejeloye has directed that the suspects be charged to court immediately while the team intensifies efforts to arrest other members of the gang. The police command’s efforts to tackle crime in the state are ongoing, and the public is assured of their safety and security.

The arrests are a welcome development, and the police command’s commitment to fighting crime and protecting the public is commendable. The suspects will face the law for their alleged crimes, and the police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those responsible for criminal activities are brought to justice.
