PUNCH Metro accumulated that the churchgoers were leading a vigil at the Recovered Christian Church of God, Wants of Countries Ward, when the hijackers attacked the premises of the congregation at Abule-Ori, in the Obafemi Owode Neighborhood Government Area of Ogun State, killed the minister and captured seven admirers.

Dr. Stephen Adeyemi, the General Secretary of CAN, reacted to the development by urging the state government to intensify efforts to end the insecurity surrounding worship centers.

“It is a very sad incident,” he declared. Furthermore, genuinely, this infers a sort of inquiry that, is it now a wrongdoing for the admirers to assemble to venerate God? We’re talking about being in our sanctuary, the church. We are discussing admirers gathering in the sanctuary to supplicate, acclaim and sing and this large number of assaults are coming to the offspring of God directly in the place of God.

“Genuinely talking, it is troubling and it is as of now making dread in the sort of society we regard ourselves as in. It’s like saying we can’t be safe. This has occurred previously; Under a new administration, it is taking place once more.

Soji Ganzallo, the State So-Safe Corps Commander, confirmed the incident by stating that his officers had killed one of the kidnappers and that the kidnapped victims had been rescued.

“The special operation team of the corps in the Owode-Egba Zonal Command, under ACC Jimoh Omoniyi, received a distress call that some of the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, under Ogun Province 22, Abule-Ori, in the Obafemi Owode LGA were attacked during a vigil, while seven members of the church were kidnapped and the pastor killed,” Ganzallo said in

“The seven casualties were protected safe while one of the ruffians was killed and a large number of the suspects supported serious injury during a gunfire trade.”

Omolola Odutola, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident by stating that one of the church’s pastors, Adesina Oyesegun, reported the incident to the police.

She said, “The gangsters were shooting irregularly, thus, a minister, Kayode Oluwakemi, 56, supported shot injuries in his chest and sadly passed on the spot. The victims who were kidnapped are now free. An effort is being made to apprehend additional suspects who are still at large.
