Remanded pastor after siblings who died seeking spiritual deliverance on July 7, 2023

A cleric from the Celestial Church of Christ, Alpha and Omega, Ashipa Parish 4, David Oshoffa, has been remanded to the Kirikiri Correctional Center by a Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Lagos State, for allegedly poisoning two siblings, Michael and Mahoklo Agbah, to death around the Seme Border in the Badagry area of the state.

Magistrate Patrick Nwaka remanded Oshoffa on Friday after he was arraigned on three murder-relatedmurder-related charges.

The cleric and two other fugitives allegedly poisoned the siblings, who were taken to the priest’s parish for spiritual healing.

Thomas Nurudeen, the prosecutor, told the court that the defendant not only made the poison with deadly chemicals he knew would hurt the kids, but also gave them the drink in the name of getting rid of a bad spirit.

According to Nurudeen, Oshoffa committed the crime on June 18, 2023, at his church, in violation of Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Lagos State, 2015 Criminal Law.

“That you, David Oshoffa, and two others at large, did unlawfully kill one Michael Agba, 12, Mahoklo Agbah, 8, by poisoning them with a concoction containing black soap and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, on June 18, 2023, at Celestial Church of Christ, Alpha and Omega, Ashipa Parish 4, Seme Border, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial

In the meantime, the defendant’s plea was not accepted by the court.

The prosecutor requested that the court remand the defendant until the Directorate of Public Prosecutions’ legal advice was completed.

Conceding the examiner’s solicitation, Nwaka requested the remand of the litigant to the Kirikiri Remedial Center and dismissed the case till August 4, 2023.Remanded pastor after siblings who died seeking spiritual deliverance on July 7, 2023
