Players of Nigeria Women Football league (NWFL) Premiership reigning Champions, Rivers Angels have been speaking ahead of their Matchday 6-midweek game with Osun Babes in Port Harcourt, Obaland Magazine gathered.
The Jewel of Rivers will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten streak as they play hosts to Omoluabi Queens inside the University of Port Harcourt Sports Institute.
Captain of the side, Catherine Kenneth in a chat with Obaland Magazine said the win over Ibom Angels last week motivated the team a lot and they intend to maintain the current tempo.
“The current spirit in the camp is quite lively due to the fact that we picked up a win on the road,” she began.
“We also hope to get a maximum win this Wednesday because no game is an easy one.
“Osun Babes are quite a decent side so we will be giving it our all to ensure we get the goals and points as well.
“We’ve been speaking to ourselves by reminding everyone that it will take teamwork to achieve our goals,” Kenneth added.
Also midfielder, Deborah Abiodun has promised to put up a better performance. “We’re expected to play as a team in order to achieve our goal this Wednesday
,” Abiodun said that their last game they lost a lot of chances which we couldn’t convert, but we’ve worked on these mistakes. By God’s grace, we’ll be able to score more goals against Osun Babes.
Rivers Angels are currently 2nd on the log with 11 points, 1 point behind leaders Bayelsa Queens who are equally home to Edo Queens. Kickoff of Wednesday’s encounter is 4 pm
