A High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has granted bail to former Ahoada East Local Government Area Chairman, Cassidy Ikegbidi, traditional ruler HRM Ngozi Onugwo, and five others, who are facing trial for the murder of Divisional Police Officer Bako Angbanshin in Odumude community.
The bail, granted on health grounds, includes N10m each with one surety for Ikegbidi and Onugwo, who must be at the level of Permanent Secretary or a recognized traditional ruler from Ahoada. The five others were granted N5m bail each, requiring a level 16 civil servant as a surety.
The accused must deposit their passports, and the trial is set for December 8, 2023.
